Bob Faktor is an Advanced Certified Optician, certified by the American Board of Opticianry (ABO) and also a Certified Contact Lens Technician, certified by the National Contact Lens Examiners. Bob started his optical career in Houston in 1999 where he served as Lab Manager for a national eyeglass chain for 6 years. During that time, Bob earned his first certification with the ABO. After leaving the corporate environment, Bob began working for a private ophthalmologist in North Houston where he worked as an ophthalmic technician and optician. During a family trip to Austin, Bob and his family fell in love with the Austin area and settled in Round Rock in late 2006. Since moving to Round Rock, Bob has worked at a few different offices before arriving at Spanish Oaks Eyecare in April 2017.
Bob’s passion is lens technology. He is very well versed in all aspects of ophthalmic lenses and keeps up to date on the latest advances in lenses, attending continuing education seminars several times each year. He has written articles for industry magazines and has co-authored a study guide to help new opticians learn the field. Bob also has an eye for frame fashion and leans toward colorful, ‘funky’ frame styles. As he likes to say, “Frames are a fashion accessory, not just a necessity. Try on something new that is a little outside your comfort zone—you may be surprised.”
Stop by Spanish Oaks Eyecare and let Bob help you select the perfect frame and lenses to not only help you see your best, but look your best too.
